Moving to new premises provided the ideal opportunity to improve communications within several units of the UK Sky/News International operation.  National Geographic Channels, National Geographic Television International, National Geographic Magazine and Fox International Channels UK were housed together in Shepherds Bush.  Each wanted to keep their separate identity and had its own individual requirements but they also had a shared focus and a need for streamlined, complimentary administration processes and systems.

The Jarvis Group is a successful, multi disciplined construction business serving clients through north London and the northern Home Counties.

NHS medical centre, 70 extension IntelliGate system with integrated DECT cordless, Auto attendant & Voicemail. Serving the communities of Horfield and Lockleaze in Bristol, Horfield Health Centre is a long established doctor’s practice in a recently rebuilt health centre offering a range of patient services. With 50 staff including 11 doctors, district nurses, health visitors, midwives, counsellors, podiatrists and specialist therapists and a minimum of 500 patient appointments a week, Horfield Health Centre is a busy practice! A telephone system was required that would allow the practice to operate as efficiently as possible and ensure patients always receive the best possible service, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

400 extension Ascotel IntelliGate, PC based Switchboard, voicemail & AIMS. Based in Aberystwyth, the National Library of Wales is a large site that is home to over four million books, periodicals, newspapers, official publications and maps. Since 1911 the library has collected every book published in Britain and Ireland, but its service does not stop there – the NLW organises and runs exhibitions and lectures as well as publishing its own books, magazines, posters and cards. Ongoing expansion meant that the library decided to upgrade its existing Ascotel system from Ascom (now known as Aastra Telecom UK) with the very latest Ascotel IntelliGate IP PBX to extend its communications throughout the large site to help improve customer service and internal communications.

The East Midlands-based main Mitsubishi agent, Chris Variava Limited, recently expanded its business, opening a new Mitsubishi dealership in Derby and relocating it’s Nottingham dealership to new premises. To ensure a smooth and efficient operation, Chris Variava required new telephone systems at both sites, with the ability to network the new sites with the existing Leicester dealership. Chris Variava Ltd. looked at Ascom (now Aastra Telecom UK) to provide the appropriate solution.


 
Vauxhall Garage Finds Top Gear with Intelligate, Derby   View Now (98KB .pdf)

Family-run main Vauxhall dealer, Marehay Garage Limited in Ripley near Derby, chose to upgrade its antiquated telephone and communications systems to help improve its customer service. A successful business with 68 employees and a turnover of £14 million, Marehay required a telecommunications solution that allowed it to take full advantage of that latest technology available and to offer a telephone operation that matched its total commitment to exemplary customer service.

Aastra and ISDN improve communications, resulting in reduced overheads and improved patient care within NHS. Prior to the recent NHS structural changes in Berkshire, The West Berkshire Priority Care Service NHS Trust was responsible for the majority of West Berkshire's NHS clinics, hospitals and administration centres. Across their region a number of diverse communications systems were installed which proved inefficient, difficult to manage and support. Several sites were not able to cope efficiently with the demand and volume of calls. When some clinics were relocated, the NHS opened a competitive tender to find a cost effective, reliable and efficient telephone systems provider to supply appropriate solutions throughout eleven key sites in the region.

With over 80 shops, including Bentalls department store, W.H.Smith and Waterstones, The Bentall Centre in Kingston has an enormous task in keeping all stores, customers, security and management centre employees talking to each other.. Completed in 1992, The Bentall Centre installed an Aastra Ascotel system, which ran successfully. However, in recent years it became apparent that there was a need for more mobile communications throughout the shopping centre and due to the increasing number of incoming calls, a more efficient switchboard system. Impressed with the level of service and quality of product, The Bentall Centre approached Aastra to upgrade its system.

The UK's largest chain of casinos, Grosvenor Casinos, owned by Rank Gaming Limited, part of the Rank Organisation, has embarked on a major investment programme in anticipation of the change in the UK gaming laws. Grosvenor are developing several prestige new casinos whilst others are being refurbished. To improve its operations, Grosvenor realised a new telephone system was essential to provide full cordless mobility for management and supervisory staff plus data capability for streamlined Internet access and email.

Founded in 1889, the Old Palace School in Croydon is steeped in history dating back to the 15th Century when its Chapel, Great Hall and Library were built. In recent years the school has expanded and built several modern, purpose-built facilities including laboratories, a heated indoor swimming pool, and a new block of classrooms. With the growth of the school, it became apparent that the existing telephone system was unable to cope with the new demand placed upon it. In particular, for an integrated mobility solution for on site security, automated attendant for out of hours assistance and reduced switchboard calls through direct routing of calls and built in intercom across the campus
